Ockenden Report
Last week (30 March), the final report of The Independent Review of Maternity Services at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, led by Donna Ockenden, was published.
Although the report reviews care provided by a maternity service in the West Midlands, the report gives us an important opportunity to ensure our plans are aligned with what is expected of maternity care nationally.
As a priority we are reviewing the recommendations in the report and identifying areas for improvement, so that we can ensure consistently safe, effective and high-quality maternity care in Swindon.
Our thoughts are with those families affected.
