New provider for GP services

Following three years with Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Moredon Medical Centre, Abbey Meads Medical Practice, Penhill Surgery and Crossroads Surgery, will be joining new providers within Brunel Health Group from 9 January 2023.

Since we began working with the practices in 2019, our focus has been improving the experience of patients and staff, and we are proud to have achieved an improved rating with the Care Quality Commission.

The practices are now in a secure enough position to join an established local primary care network, which has the experience, knowledge, and scale to support further improvements.

Brunel Health Group is made up of 14 independent GP surgeries who provide care across the Swindon area. Moredon Medical Centre, Abbey Meads Medical Practice, Penhill Surgery and Crossroads Surgery will each join a local provider within Brunel Health Group.

  • Moredon Medical Centre will join Westrop Medical Practice
  • Crossroads Surgery will join North Swindon Practice
  • Abbey Meads Medical Practice and Penhill Surgery will join Victoria Cross Surgery.

We are working with Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (who are responsible for planning local healthcare services) and our valued practice staff, to ensure a smooth transfer and continuity of care for patients.

As a member of Swindon’s wider healthcare system, we remain committed to improving the quality of the healthcare provided across the town and the experience of local people.

Patients should continue to use the GP service as they would normally.
