Two nurses attend Royal reception hosted by His Majesty The King

Yesterday, two of our incredible nurses attended a Nursing and Midwifery Reception at Buckingham Palace, hosted by His Majesty The King.
Alicia Messiah, Equality Lead Nurse, and Antonella Iarrobino, Clinical Practice Educator, joined hundreds of NHS colleagues at the event which spotlighted the diversity of nurses and midwives and paid particular tribute to the contribution of our internationally recruited workforce.
The celebrations came as part of the NHS' 75th anniversary, and included a surprise birthday song performed by the NHS Choir.
The King also spoke with nurses and midwives from around the world during the event, as well as refugee nurses and representatives from international nursing and midwifery associations.
Alicia Messiah said the experience was "surreal, but a great time."
