Celebrating our Health and Wellbeing Champions on Time To Talk Day

Staff at the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are being given the opportunity to become Health and Wellbeing Champions.

Health and Wellbeing Champions are members of staff who share support, advice and guidance. This allows our staff across the organisation the opportunity to reflect on their psychological wellbeing.

Health and Wellbeing Champions are colleagues who have pledged to:

  • Make a positive difference within their team
  • Lead on supporting cultural change
  • Make it easier for people to talk about health and wellbeing in the workplace

They are also working with senior members of staff to raise awareness of health and wellbeing issues and bring more people into the conversation.

To mark 2024's Time To Talk Day, organised by Mind, the Trust's Health and Wellbeing Champions have shared advice on how to support others with their mental health.

Health and Wellbeing Champion, Esther Linton, said:

"We can do better things for other people if we are looking after ourselves. It's okay not to not feel okay, and if you're able to share with one person, I think it can make a huge difference to how you feel."
