1,000 staff trained in improvement approach

More than 1,000 staff from the Great Western Hospital and community teams in Swindon have completed Improving Together training, transforming how teams communicate and bringing people together with simple routines which can be incorporated into NHS life.

Improving Together is a quality improvement methodology which can be used in everyday working life, helping to ensure that improvements are led by the people who know their service and their patients best.

The innovative approach is used across all three trusts in our hospital group with Royal United Hospitals Bath and Salisbury Hospital.

Staff are encouraged to use the Improving Together approach to tackle inefficiencies, work smarter and share solutions, improving the working lives of staff and the experience of patients.

Making improvements is not easy in a complex organisation like the NHS, but staff say that this way of working is empowering them to speak up, share ideas and make changes that they would not have had the opportunity to pursue otherwise.

All staff are invited to register for the training which teaches recognised transferable skills which can be used in any role, in any industry.

Just one of the valuable personal development opportunities we offer people.
