The Women’s Health Outpatients department provides a wide range of Gynaecological services and Obstetric medicine.
Clinics are run by a specialist doctor, clinician or Advanced Practice Nurse for the diagnosis, treatment and management of gynaecological conditions.
Some clinics may offer a 'see and treatment' option at the first appointment, but you will be sent all the necessary information advising you what to expect with your appointment letter.
There is a children's play area, a water cooler and public toilets within the waiting area.
Clinics are open Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm, although some Obstetrics appointments can begin from 7.45am. The service is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
What to expect
While you are waiting for your appointment, if you are a new patient, you may also have your height and weight measured and be asked to provide a urine sample.
You will then be asked to take a seat and wait for your appointment.
After your consultation you may be sent for a further diagnostic tests; booked to come into hospital for a procedure or you be discharged back to the care of your GP.
Location
