Referral
After your operation, you will be seen by a physiotherapist on the ward.
They can refer you into the class directly or you may be referred in following your clinic review in the JAC Clinic at six weeks or one year post surgery.
You could also be referred into the class by your GP or physiotherapist if your surgery was less than two years ago.
What to expect
You will attend the class once a week, for up to eight weeks
The class is led by a physiotherapist and a rehabilitation assistant.
On your first session you will be asked to complete a questionnaire to assess your function; this will also be completed on your last session to assess the improvement.
If you are still struggling after the eight weeks, you can be referred to see a physiotherapist on a one-to-one basis.
