The service includes washing, decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilisation, across the Trust's hospitals and community sites, of:

• Theatre trays
• Procedure packs
• Supplementary instruments

It also carries out the decontamination of flexible endoscopes, including vacuum packing.

This is an accredited decontamination unit certified as meeting the requirements of EU Directive 93/42/EEC and ISO 13485.

The ISO certification allows it to provide a sterilisation and decontamination service to healthcare providers in both public and private sectors.

Our washer disinfectors, autoclaves and automated endoscope reprocessors are tested to the standards as set out in HTM 01-01 and HTM 01-06.
